I'm all about showing your audience that you’re worth their attention
It’s shockingly easy to project an unwelcomed image and messageThere’s an epidemic striking down fledgling business relationships, before they have a chance to become real engagements.
The physical and psychological toll is significant. Symptoms include head-scratching, groaning, eye-rolling, momentary attention deficit disorder, and in severe cases, temporary blindness. The effects on prospects and customers – the very life blood of small businesses – is not only numbing, it’s unnecessary.
This is the scourge of clichéd visual marketing and messaging, that’s also eating away at the business owners and marketers who may be unaware they’re cultivating it, spreading its tolerance or worse, its acceptance.
The real culprits range from limited automation tools to free “information” and faux inspiration flooding the internet. Legions of commodity graphic designers, so easily available with a quick search, often abet the well-meaning marketer hoping for notice and engagement.
Is there any hope for the afflicted? You may need someone to say what you don’t want to hear, an outsider to burst your wishful bubble with the pin of tough love.
As with any habit or addiction, I’ve just provided the first step – awareness. Next comes the low hanging fruit of avoidance.
Is your approach, in your marketing materials, to first and foremost talk about how you do what you do, how well you do it, and how great you are for doing it? 😦 Stop it! Saw a cool stock photo from that free site that everyone's using? Stop it! Is your spouse pitching his or her favorite color, that one in your couch? Stop – just stop!
Hey, I’m totally sympathetic to the do-it-yourself (DIY) spirit, and I truly admire you resourceful, money-saving men and women of action! 🏆 But if you are evolving and ready to outgrow the cheap-at-any-cost or, as my dad would say, “perfectly good” approach, I congratulate you.
I can guide you forwardI’m big on co-creation with business-savvy and creative owners and marketers. Together, we’ll focus and hone your message, then elevate it visually. I work closely with you to better represent yourself in a magnetic and consistent manner. But most importantly, I’ll advocate for giving your customers what they're looking for, to assure they’ll succeed each day in their jobs (thanks to you).
Remember, virtually no one cares about your business as much as you do. It's you who must first impress them with your awareness of their problems and needs. So listen, look smart, and converse like the compelling guest you’re meant to be. That’s how engagement – and eventual success – begins.
